Can I cover my gadgets whilst abroad?

We can confirm that although gadget cover is not included as standard across any of our policies, it is available at an additional premium across some of them. This additional gadget policy is provided by Bastion Insurance Services Ltd on behalf of Brokersure Ltd and underwritten by Collinson Insurance.

Bastion Insurance Services Ltd define a ‘gadget’ as:

  1. mobile phones, smart phones, iPhones, PDAs
  2. tablets and iPads
  3. e-readers
  4. laptops
  5. cameras and camera lenses
  6. video cameras and GoPros
  7. MP3 players
  8. headphones, earphones, earbuds, Bluetooth headsets
  9. games consoles
  10. smartwatches
  11. satellite navigation devices

Gadget insurance is intended to meet the demands and needs of those who wish to insure their gadgets during their trip against theft, accidental damage, breakdown and accidental loss. Before travel, your gadget must be in good condition and in full working order prior to taking out this policy. If there is evidence that the damage, theft or loss occurred prior to the policy start date your claim will be refused and no premium refund will be due.
