Can I cover my gadgets whilst abroad?

Gadget cover is not included as standard across any of our policies. However, it is available at an additional premium across some of them.

Direct Travel and AllSafe policies give the option to add one of three levels of cover (if applicable):

Bronze - maximum claim of £1,000 per person, with a £75 excess

Silver - maximum claim of £2,000 per person, with a £75 excess

Gold - maximum claim of £3,000 per person, with a £75 excess

This additional gadget policy is provided by Bastion Insurance Services Ltd on behalf of Brokersure Ltd and underwritten by Collinson Insurance. It is intended to meet the demands and needs of those who wish to insure their gadgets during their trip against theft, accidental damage, breakdown and accidental loss. Before travel, your gadget must be in good condition and in full working order prior to taking out this policy. If there is evidence that the damage, theft or loss occurred prior to the policy start date your claim will be refused and no premium refund will be due.

Bastion Insurance Services Ltd. define a ‘gadget’ as: mobile phones, smartphones, iPhones, iPads, tablets, cameras, camera lenses, MP3 players, games consoles, video cameras, GoPros, smartwatches, bluetooth headsets, satellite navigation devices, PDAs, e-readers, headphones, earphones, earbuds, and laptops. No cover is provided for drones.

Fit2Travel policies offer the option to add a gadget extension to your policy, at one level (if applicable) - this would be for a maximum claim of £1,000, with a £75 excess.

Your gadget must be in good working order and in your possession when you start your trip and purchased as new in the UK, or, if purchased as refurbished, was purchased directly from the manufacturer/network provider in the UK.

Fit2Travel define a ‘gadget’ as: mobile phones, smartphones, laptops, tablets, digital cameras, MP3 players, CD/DVD players, games consoles, video cameras, camera lenses, bluetooth headsets, satellite navigation devices, PDAs, e-readers, headphones, earphones, portable health monitoring devices, and wearable technology. No cover is provided for drones.
