The Ski Resort

Tignes is a high-altitude resort in the French Alps, known for its dramatic mountain scenery and diverse villages. The resort is made up of five villages, each with its own personality. At around 2,100 meters, Tignes le Lac, Val Claret, and Le Lavachet are the heart of the action, offering ski-in/ski-out convenience and a lively atmosphere. These villages are connected by a free shuttle, making it easy to explore. Lower down the valley, Tignes 1800 and Tignes-les-Brévières have a more peaceful vibe, with cosy chalets and tree-lined runs. Tignes is often called a ‘natural stadium’ because of its incredible landscape. Surrounded by towering peaks and the Grande Motte Glacier, the resort sits above the Lac du Chevril (Chevril Lake), so there’s stunning views everywhere you turn. Tignes has something for everyone - from serious skiers to families looking for a magical mountain escape.

The Ski Slopes

Tignes has a massive, varied ski area, perfect for all abilities. Beginners will appreciate the dedicated learning zones with free lifts, making it easy to get started without extra costs. These gentle areas are perfect for building confidence. For intermediate and advanced skiers, there’s a fantastic selection of red and black runs with stunning alpine views. High-altitude slopes ensure great snow conditions throughout the season, making Tignes a top spot for seasoned skiers and even professional athletes. Freestyle enthusiasts can hit the snow parks, which are well-equipped with jumps, rails, and features suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to experts looking to practice their tricks. Tignes also offers plenty of other winter sports, so you can try ice diving, ski jumping, bungee jumping, ice climbing, snake gliss, or even paragliding… if you fancy!

Après Ski

Tignes has a buzzing après-ski scene with something for everyone, whether you want lively parties, relaxed drinks, or late-night dancing. In Le Lac, the Pompon Lounge is a great place to kick back with a drink while watching skiers on the slopes. It has a sunny terrace and often features live music and DJs. Nearby, The Marmot Arms is a classic pub with draft beers, big screens for sports, and a solid après atmosphere with live entertainment. Over in Val Claret, Cocorico is one of the liveliest après spots. Running from 2-8pm, it’s all about live music, DJs, dancing on tables, and happy hour.
