The Ski Resort

Les Arcs, nestled in France's Savoie region, is a favourite among skiers for its extensive terrain and design. The resort is divided into several villages at varying elevations: Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950, and Arc 2000, and they each offer a different vibe and selection of facilities. It’s part of the Paradiski area (along with La Plagne), offering over 400 kilometres of varied slopes suitable for all skill levels. The resort's design ensures that many accommodations provide ski-in/ski-out access, so it’s really convenient to hit the slopes. Les Arcs also has a real focus on being eco-conscious, and aims to self-produce 25% of its energy by 2030. For example, the new Vallandry gondola has solar panels and systems to collect rainwater and capture heat.

The Ski Slopes

Les Arcs is a favourite among skiers due to its diverse mix of terrain and altitude. The resort spans elevations from 1,200 metres in Villaroger up to 3,226 metres at the Aiguille Rouge peak - in fact it’s the 7 km descent from Aiguille Rouge to Villaroger (a black and red run), which stands out as a resort highlight. The ski area plays host to over 200 kilometres of marked runs, with a mix of 18 green, 55 blue, 42 red, and 16 black pistes. Beginners can enjoy wide, gentle slopes, especially around Arc 2000, which offers reliable snow conditions. Intermediates have plenty of blue and red runs to explore, while advanced skiers can tackle challenging black runs and off-piste opportunities. Beyond traditional skiing, Les Arcs offers additional winter activities such as snowboarding, with renowned snowparks catering to freestylers. With Les Arcs being part of the Paradiski area, the Vanoise Express cable car expands your ski area to include La Plagne and hundreds more pistes, so there's always something new to explore.

Après Ski

Les Arcs has a well-rounded après-ski scene, with different villages offering different vibes, so there’s something for everyone - whether you want to party, enjoy a quiet drink, or just relax after a long day on the slopes. Arc 1800 is where you’ll find the most energy and nightlife, while Arc 1950 and Arc 2000 have more of a refined après experience. Arc 1600 and Peisey-Vallandry are great if you prefer a more low-key evening. However, there are plenty of other ways to enjoy après-ski in Les Arcs. A cinema and a bowling alley, as well as bar games like pool are available for fun away from the slopes, as well as several spa and wellness centres if you fancy some true time to yourself.

We'd like to wish you an enjoyable holiday in the snow and please don't hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any queries regarding your insurance cover.
