The Heavenly Mountain Resort straddles the California-Nevada border, at the south end of Lake Tahoe. The surrounding community of South Lake Tahoe compliments the resort's dynamic atmosphere, where you’ll find a variety of eateries, shops, and entertainment venues. The vibe at Heavenly is a mix of adventure and relaxation. Skiers and snowboarders can challenge themselves on the diverse terrain during the day and unwind in the evenings with live music, fine dining, or casual gatherings around fire pits. The resort and its village have a friendly and lively feel, making it a perfect destination for those wanting to chase the snow or for those looking just to relax in the mountains.
There are 4,800 acres of skiable terrain in Heavenly Mountain Resort, including 97 runs of varying difficulties which are serviced by 28 lifts. The elevation increases from 1,906m to 3,068m at the summit, so there’s reliable snow and a long winter season - perfect for expectant and returning visitors. A majority of the terrain is suited to intermediate riders, with well-groomed slopes providing plenty of cruisy runs. However there’s also a good amount of wider and more gentle runs for beginners, and advanced skiers can enjoy the steep descents of Mott and Killebrew Canyons. For those who love going off-piste, Heavenly’s got tree skiing with spacious glades - perfect for finding hidden powder stashes. The resort also allows uphill access on skis or snowshoeing, though this does depend on weather and operations.
Heavenly Mountain Resort’s après-ski scene is lively and varied, with plenty of spots to unwind after a day on the slopes. On the mountain, there are casual dining options like East Peak Lodge at the base of the Dipper and Comet chairlifts, which are good for a quick bite with indoor and outdoor seating. Stage Coach Lodge on the Nevada side serves breakfast and lunch, then transforms into an après spot where you can relax with a drink. The energy really picks up in South Lake Tahoe when the sun sets. The nightlife here is vibrant, with live music venues featuring local bands and plenty of places to dance. And of course it wouldn’t be Nevada without a casino or two - head to one of the nearby casinos for gaming and late-night entertainment. If you prefer a more laid-back evening, the area has several craft breweries and taverns, where you can sip local brews and mingle with fellow skiers and boarders.
