The Ski Resort

Courmayeur is one of those ski resorts that feels more like a charming Alpine hideaway than a busy tourist hotspot. Nestled in the Aosta Valley, right at the foot of Mont Blanc, the cobbled streets of the car-free town centre are lined with boutique shops, family-run cafés, and stylish wine bars, where visitors can enjoy everything from an espresso to an indulgent Italian meal. Unlike big, flashy resorts, Courmayeur has kept its traditional mountain charm, with a welcoming, laid-back feel. Whether you're exploring local markets, sipping a coffee at a streetside café, or indulging in après-ski aperitivos, Courmayeur delivers an unforgettable mix of Alpine adventure and Italian charm.

The Ski Slopes

Courmayeur’s ski slopes offer a fun, varied experience with stunning views of Mont Blanc. The resort has 33 pistes, covering everything from gentle blue runs to challenging black descents. Plan Checrouit, on the east-facing side, is bathed in morning sun, making it perfect for a warm-up run. In the afternoon, most skiers head over to Val Veny, where the tree-lined, north-west facing slopes provide more shade and fantastic scenery. At 2,755 meters, Courmayeur’s slopes aren’t the highest in the Alps, but they hold good snow for most of the season, thanks to excellent snowmaking technology covering over 80% of the ski area. The off-piste terrain is world-famous, drawing freeriders to explore untouched powder. The resort is great for a weekend getaway, but Sundays can get busy with day-trippers.

Après Ski

Courmayeur has a lively, but refined, après-ski scene, offering everything from stylish mountain lounges to buzzing late-night clubs. At Plan Checrouit, skiers can enjoy an aperitivo at sunset with stunning views before heading to a cosy high-altitude restaurant for a traditional Italian dinner. Some venues also have snowmobile-accessible dining, which adds a spot of uniqueness to the experience. For those who love a party, spots like Super G bring a high-energy après vibe with DJs and dancing. Meanwhile, elegant bars like Chateau Branlant and Bar du Soleil offer a relaxed setting to unwind with fine wine and cocktails. The village itself is home to trendy lounges, intimate wine bars, and a handful of lively clubs, making Courmayeur perfect for both relaxed evenings and late-night fun.
