Does backpacker insurance cover skiing and snowboarding?

Not as standard. Backpacker policies include a range of sports and activities, but skiing, snowboarding and other snow sports need winter sports cover.

If you plan to hit the slopes during your trip, check when you get your quote whether winter sports cover can be added, or call our customer service team on 0330 880 3600 before you buy. If your trip is mainly a ski holiday, a single trip or annual policy with the Winter Sports extension may suit you better.

Whichever policy you choose, check the policy wording for any conditions, such as skiing off-piste only with a guide.
