Record number of peak summer sale flights launched by easyJet
Budget airline easyJet has announced that it will be putting a record number of flights on sale for its 2015 peak summer schedule.
Some 13 million seats on a record 79,000 flights are set to be made available at a reduced price, flying both to and from the UK over the next summer.
In order to give customers the option to book early, the airline will today (October 8th) launch 22.5 million seats that are available between June 1st and September 2015.
It is expected that approximately 45 million travellers will fly with the airline throughout the next summer as a result of this massive marketing initiative.
Sophie Dekkers, UK director of easyJet, said: “We’re pleased to be putting our peak summer period on sale for our passengers today, allowing them to take advantage of our lowest fares to the sun, cities and beaches across Europe. With our low fares, friendly service and allocated seating, it’s clear why families are continuing to return to easyJet for their holidays.
“With our record 700-plus routes on sale, passengers have more choice than ever on where to spend their summer break. easyJet flies to popular summer sun destinations at high frequencies during the summer period because this allows travellers to depart on the day they prefer and choose the length of holiday to suit them.”
Ms Dekkers added that the company expected the so called ‘bucket and spade’ routes to Portugal, Spain and Greece to be very popular, with Egypt, Turkey and The Canaries also featuring heavily for late summer sun holidays.
Currently, easyJet flies to destinations across Europe, Russia, the Middle East and North Africa from its bases in 11 UK airports. Some 370 of the airline’s 700-plus routes are available in Britain.
Examples of the fares available to passengers include London Gatwick to Antalya from £36.99, Manchester to Thessaloniki from £33.99 and Edinburgh to Tenerife from £39.99.
