Are gadgets covered if placed in the hold of an aircraft?

No. Our optional gadget cover does not extend to gadgets placed in the hold of an aircraft, and cover will not normally apply to a device packed inside checked luggage while you are travelling.

To keep your devices covered, carry them in your hand luggage wherever the airline and airport security rules allow. Rules on what can go in the cabin vary by airline and route, so check with your airline before you fly.

Gadget cover is not included as standard, but it can be added for an extra premium on some policies. The full terms, including the conditions for unattended items, are in the policy wording.
