What is the difference between Europe 1 and Europe 2?

The difference between Europe 1 and Europe 2 varies depending on the policy you have purchased, although generally the countries are grouped similarly.

Europe 1 tends to include a majority of European countries, and Europe 2 includes all of those countries as well as those which are more toxic-loaded (meaning healthcare is more expensive). Generally speaking, these are places like Spain, Greece, Turkey, Morocco, and Cyprus.

Please be aware that each insurer categorises these countries differently. For example, Andorra is in Europe 1 for Direct Travel and Fit2Travel policies, but in Europe 2 for Free Spirit policies.

We would always refer you to your Policy Wording for details, or invite you to get in contact for more information.
