Our policies cover scuba diving under the Sports and/or Activities section found in the Policy Wordings. The depth you are covered for may differ between insurers, and is subject to your qualifications. There are also restrictions around whether you are diving alone or with a qualified instructor. Please check your Policy Wording to make sure you know how you are covered with regard to scuba diving.
Direct Travel/AllSafe (Allianz)
The following is covered under Activity Pack 1, as standard and at no additional premium:
- Scuba diving to 30 metres if qualified and not diving alone
- Scuba diving to 18 metres if not qualified and accompanied by a qualified instructor
Fit2Travel (Arch)
The following is covered under Activity Pack 1, as standard and at no additional premium:
- Scuba Diving (not solo, up to maximum 30m)
The following is covered under Activity Pack 6, at an additional premium:
- Scuba Diving (not solo, up to 40m)
The following is covered under Activity Pack 7, at an additional premium:
- Scuba Diving (solo, up to 40m)
Freespirit (Canopius)
The following is covered under Activity Pack 1, as standard and at no additional premium:
- Scuba Diving (not solo, up to maximum 30m)
Goodtogo (Red Sands)
The following is covered under Category A, as standard and at no additional premium:
- Scuba diving (up to 18 metres, also see scuba diving endorsement in this policy)
The following is covered under Category B, at an additional premium:
- Scuba Diving (between 18 and 30 metres, also see scuba diving endorsement in this policy)
The ‘scuba diving endorsement’ on Goodtogo policies means that you can take part in the above activities, subject to the following:
- You hold a British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC), Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) or equivalent certificate of proficiency for the dive being undertaken OR you are under the direct supervision of a qualified instructor
- You are diving with proper equipment, and not contrary to BSAC codes of good practice
- You are not solo diving, cave diving, or wreck diving
- You are not diving for hire, or for reward
- You are not diving within 48 hours of flying, or flying within 48 hours of diving
- You are not suffering from any medical condition likely to impair your fitness to dive
