FCO Issue Warning to Travellers Crossing the Channel this Bank Holiday Weekend

Last update: 26th May, 2017

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office have warned travellers today of potential delays when crossing the Channel, ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend.

A high influx of travellers are expected to cross the Channel this weekend, causing potential delays.

Security checks are also thought to pose a risk of increased delays to traveller’s journeys.

Updating their French online page, the FCO stated: “The weekend of 27 May 2017, will see high passenger numbers using cross Channel services.

“There’s a risk of delays, including because of security checks. You should check the website of your chosen operator before you set off.”

France sees around 17 million visits from British Nationals each year.
