Flights Set to be Diverted as Storm Katie Blows in
Storm Katie arrived over the Easter weekend, causing many flights to be diverted away from the London area. Many flights that intended to land at Gatwick were diverted to places as far as Manchester or Birmingham, with some Heathrow arrivals being diverted to Glasgow.
A handful of flights had to be cancelled as no diversions were available; 50 flights have been cancelled by British Airways alone and most easyJet flights were diverted. Gatwick have reportedly suffered from 6 hour delays. Airports are not the only ones suffering from diversions and delays; cross channel ferries have also been suffering from delays due to extreme weather conditions this weekend.
