New Interim Director appointed by British Tourism Authority
The British Tourism Authority has appointed new leadership for England in Andrew Stokes, its new interim director, England.
Having spent the last 14 years as chief executive of Market Manchester, Stokes has changed the organisation from its tourism focus to a cross-sector organisation, encompassing branding, promotion, and marketing for the city.
In his new role, Stokes will be at the head of the “Discover England Fund,” a £40million investment announced by the government in last year’s spending review. The fund is to ensure that tourism product development is delivered in the right way for international markets, as well as appealing to a domestic market.
