Hurricane Maria Set to Follow Hurricane Irma
Recovery from Hurricane Irma hasn't even begun and the Caribbean Islands is set to face another devastating hurricane, Hurricane Maria.
Hurricane Maria is currently graded as a Category 1 Hurriance but is set to become a major hurricane by tonight or early Tuesday morning. Hurricane Maria is first set to appear within sections on Leeward Islands. The NHC have warned of life threatening surf and rips caused by swells around the Lesser Antilles area. Additionally, it is esitmated that Hurricane Maria will cause 6 to 12 inches of rain with isolated areas in the central and southern Leeward Islands, Puerto Rico and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands reaching a max amount of 20 inches on Wednesday night. In the northern Leeward Islands from Barbuda to Anuguilla, Windward Islands and Barbados, Hurricane Maria will cause 2 to 4 inches of rain with isolated areas reaching a maximum of 8 inches. All rainfall could cause life threatening flash floods and mudslides.
