What is model flying?
Model flying involves controlling a small model aircraft from the ground using a radio transmitter. Models can include powered aircraft, gliders and scale replicas flown indoors or at designated outdoor flying sites.
Is model flying covered by travel insurance?
Yes. Model flying is included as a standard activity across the travel insurance policies available through Direct Travel.
Select model flying when getting your quote and check that it appears on your Policy Certificate or policy documents. You must also follow the aviation, registration and flying rules that apply at your destination.

Is Personal Liability covered while model flying?

Can I get cover if I have a medical condition?
Pre existing medical conditions are considered separately from activity cover. Declare them when getting your quote, as cover is subject to medical screening and acceptance.
