What is fencing?

Fencing is a combat sport where two opponents try to score points using a type of sword called a foil, épée, or sabre. Bouts involve plenty of quick footwork, sharp reactions, and tactical thinking - essentially chess, but considerably faster and with protective masks.

Can I get travel insurance for fencing?

Yes. Amateur fencing is included as standard on most of the policies offered by Direct Travel.

Select fencing when getting your quote and check that it appears on your Policy Certificate or policy documents. If you’re travelling for a tournament or organised competition, make sure the selected policy matches the level at which you will be fencing.

Depending on the policy selected, cover may also be available for cancellation, curtailment, baggage and other travel-related problems. Personal Liability and cover for fencing equipment can vary, so check the applicable Policy Wording.
