Direct Travel: Waiting Lists and Terminal Conditions

As of today, we can confirm that Direct Travel Insurance have the ability to provide cover for travellers who are on a waiting list for a diagnosed condition, and also to consider policies for those who have received a terminal prognosis. 

Direct Travel Insurance has been offering cover for medical travel insurance for a number of years, alongside and in conjunction with multiple providers and underwriters. We pride ourselves on being an option for those who might think they cannot travel due to pre-existing medical conditions, and we are glad to have helped thousands of consumers get the cover they need for the trips they deserve.

On a waiting list?

We aren’t able to provide policies for travellers who have unexplained symptoms or who are awaiting diagnosis. However, we are able to provide cover for consumers who might be awaiting small procedures, larger surgeries, or routine testing for a condition which is diagnosed.

Have a terminal prognosis?

We are fortunate enough to have a provider who has agreed to consider medical travel insurance policies online for travellers who have been diagnosed with life-limiting illnesses - this is given that upon your return there are at least six months remaining of your prognosis. Quotes can be provided for a variety of conditions including lung disease, cancer, motor neurone disease, and progressive neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease or dementia.
