Travelers Warned by FCDO of Security Strikes in Portugal

Last update: 8th May, 2017

The FCDO have warned travellers travelling to Portugal of an approaching security strike at the country’s airports.

The security staff at Portugal’s airports intend to strike for five days from May 13th to 17th.

The British Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office updated their Portuguese page to prepare travellers for potential delays.

They advised travellers travelling to Portugal amid this period to “make allowance for the additional time it may take to go through security control and to check-in luggage.”

The strike is planned during the visit of Pope Francis, who will visit Portugal on the 12th and 13th May 2017.
