Yes, recreational ice fishing with an experienced guide can be covered. Follow the guide’s instructions and any local safety advice about the ice and weather conditions.


Can I use a snowmobile to reach the fishing location?

Ice fishing does not automatically cover riding or driving a snowmobile, so you will need to add this activity to your policy too. Select every activity you plan to do when getting your quote. Personal Liability is not covered when using a motorised vehicle.


Can medical expenses be covered if I am injured?

Emergency medical expenses can be covered if ice fishing is shown on your policy documents and the claim meets the policy’s terms and conditions.


Is search and rescue covered?

Search and rescue cover may be available where included in the selected policy. Limits, conditions and exclusions apply, particularly when fishing in remote areas.


Can I enter an ice fishing competition?

Amateur participation during a wider trip can be covered. However, cover does not apply if the main purpose of your trip is to enter an amateur tournament or competition. Professional, sponsored, or paid participation and competing for prize money are not covered.


Can I get cover if I have a medical condition?

Pre existing medical conditions are considered separately from activity cover. Declare them when getting your quote, as cover is subject to medical screening and acceptance.
