YEMENIA AIRWAYS SUSPENDS FLIGHTS
06 Jul 2009
On 3 July 2009 a spokesperson from Yemenia Airways announced that flights to and from Paris and Marseille would be cancelled after several protests disrupted the airline's flights. Demonstrators attempted to prevent passengers from boarding a flight to Comoros on 3 July by blocking the entrance to Terminal 3 at Paris' Charles de Gaulle Airport. Although the flight eventually departed, it was delayed by three hours and many passengers did not board. On 2 July protesters at Marseille Provence Airport attempted to block another Yemenia Airways flight to Comoros. Protesters have questioned the airline's safety after the 30 June crash that saw only one survivor.
