On 20 July 2009 rains from Tropical Storm Molave caused heavy flooding in Hanoi and other parts of northern Vietnam. The flooding brought traffic to a standstill around the city. Local officials have warned that continued storms could lead to landslides in the mountainous regions of Vietnam
