5.4-magnitude earthquake strikes Caracas metropolitan area

A 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck the Caracas metropolitan area at aprroximately 0430 local time on the 4th May 2009. It was followed a short time later by a 4.0-magnitude tremor. The first quake was centered approximately 25 miles (40 km) south of Caracas. There were no immediate reports of any damage or injuries.
