05 Feb 2010
A strong snowstorm is forecast to hit the mid-Atlantic region on 6 February 2010. Up to 28 in/71 cm of snow is expected in areas that include Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Concerns over extensive power outages have been raised, as the snowfall will likely be very wet and heavy, and strong winds are expected. Flights have been cancelled in multiple cities as far north as Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey and as far south as Virginia and West Virginia. Some Amtrak trains from Washington, D.C., have also been cancelled. Many schools and businesses are closing early on 5 February in preparation for the storm.
