SIGHTSEEING HELICOPTER COLLIDES WITH LIGHT AIRCRAFT

On 8 August 2009 a helicopter collided with a small aircraft over the Hudson River near West 14th Street in Manhattan at approximately 1200 local time. The helicopter was carrying a group of five Italian tourists along with the pilot. There were three people onboard the aircraft, which had taken off from Teterboro Airport. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the accident.
