Parts of the U.S Hit By 20 Inches of Snow

10 Feb 2010
A snowstorm hit the Northeast, Midwestern and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States on 10 February 2010, forcing U.S. government offices to close for a third consecutive day. The storm was forecast to blanket New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., with between 14 and 20 inches of snow, while between 7 and 12 inches of snow are expected in Chicago. Officials in Washington, D.C., also reported that bus services would be cancelled and subway services would be limited. Many flights were cancelled in Philadelphia, Chicago and the D.C. area, and airlines were offering to allow passengers to reschedule at no additional charge.
