London Underground Maintenance Workers Strike
05 Feb 2010
Approximately 750 maintenance workers on the London Underground began a 24-hour strike at 0645 local time/UTC on 5 February 2010. The strike was organised by the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union to protest rosters and the outsourcing of jobs. The Victoria, Bakerloo and Central lines were among those affected by the work stoppage. London Underground representatives have reported few disruptions as a result of the strike. Union members threatened to continue striking every Sunday beginning on 14 February should the two sides fail to resolve the dispute.
