Travellers keen on spotting wild animals while on holiday might take one expert's advice and visit Zambia.
Spotting lions, antelope and rhino while enjoying a holiday might hold appeal for some adventure-seeking travellers - and one expert may have suggested the perfect location for such pursuits.
Chilala Habasimbi, first secretary of tourism at the Zambia High Commission, said the country's parks and opportunities for safari are less congested than others in the continent, which could make it ideal for those looking to spend time spotting animals in the wild.
"If you go to our national parks, you get that intimate relationship with the wildlife and no one obstructing you when you are looking," she went on to say.
Travel insurance customers arriving in Zambia this month might find the climate particularly hot - but the expert stated it is also the best for safari excursions. Ms Habasimbi pointed out that more animals are visible during October because the ground and grass are very dry.
The most adventurous visitors could do well to arrive in Livingstone, but the Lower Zambezi National Park, Lusaka and South Luangwa National Park may also hold appeal for their wildlife pursuits and cultural diversity.
Accommodation and amenities have been improved in the country but the outdoor spaces have been left in their natural state to encourage animals - although more roads are also being built with a view to making the regions accessible all year round.
However, arranging flights quickly might be recommended, as figures from the International Air Transport Association have revealed that passenger traffic to Africa has increased by 10.5 per cent over the last year.
