Those planning on attending World Cup matches in South Africa next year should keep a close eye on exchange rates, it has been advised.
Football fans looking to travel to South Africa next year for the World Cup should start tracking exchange rates now, according to M&S Travel Money.
The rand rate has fluctuated by up to 3.3 rand per pound against sterling in the last 12 months - the pound was worth 11.39 rand in October, compared with 14.69 rand in December last year.
Because attending the World Cup will likely mean spending thousands of pounds on match tickets, flights and hotels, it is a good idea to make sure football fans get value for money through their currency, M&S Travel Money said.
"Those who buy all their currency in one go next summer could find that the rand rate is particularly strong against sterling," said head of M&S Travel Money.
