Witness nature at its best on a Cyprus holiday
If experiencing a rare sight is part of an ideal travel itinerary, then a holiday in Cyprus could be a perfect option.
During the summer months, the destination becomes home to hundreds of sea turtles, as they venture on to land to lay their eggs.
Between July and October, more than 80 beaches in north Cyprus will be the venue for thousands of these hatching eggs, as the baby turtles head out to the open seas.
"At dawn or dusk holidaymakers can watch nature's miracle unfold as they join experts from the Society for the Protection of Turtles at Turtle HQ, based at Alagadi Turtle Beach, east of Kyrenia," explained Direct Traveller, who organise trips to the destination.
Green and loggerhead turtles nest on the beaches of the Karpaz and Kyrenia peninsula and Famagusta Bay in north Cyprus, both of which are heavily protected, endangered species.
Travel insurance holders will also be able to benefit from the destination being outside of the eurozone, the company added.
According to North-Cyprus.com, the country boasts 300 days of sunshine a year and summer temperatures average around 30 degrees Celsius.
