Visitors to Singapore might discover a charming experience
Tourists on the lookout for an authentic Far Eastern experience while on holiday could sample the delights available in Singapore.
Eunice Yeo, area director of northern and western Europe at the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in London, said that Joo Chiat and Katong can provide a "charming" experience for those visiting the area.
Shops and restaurants are in abundance and those who have promised to take home some exquisite souvenirs could find just the thing among the traditional retail outlets and antique dealerships.
Rumah Bebe might be ideal for jewellery enthusiasts, as Ms Yeo explains this is the town "where Singapore's renowned Peranakan beading specialist offers intricate beading demonstrations".
Culture-lovers could find themselves engrossed in the National Arts Gallery, which the expert dubs "a must-see", as people can learn about heritage and the development of the industry in visual arts and its influence on the rest of the world.
Residents of the country have been seen to enjoy this attraction and it has become known as "a civic and creative space", which was established to engage its attendees in art.
The Mid-Autumn Festival takes place in September and is similar to the US tradition of Thanksgiving. Families celebrate together with lantern displays and street stalls selling wares and delicacies - the STB claims mooncake is worth a try and the event adds "colour to your travels", making it a great backdrop for budding photographers.
No matter what tourists want to achieve from a visit to Singapore, their tastes, likes and interests are sure to be catered for in this diverse country, Ms Yeo concluded.
Anyone planning a trip to Singapore should investigate the best
travel insurance options available before they leave the UK.
