Scenery, heritage sites and fantastic food could all leave visitors to Cancun "speechless".
Travellers who find themselves in Cancun might be rendered "speechless" by the area's beaches, landscape, cultural attractions and food.
This is according to Manuel Diaz Cebrian, Europe regional director of the Mexico Tourism Board, who explained the region has plenty to offer no matter what visitors have on their agenda.
"Cancun is the primary entry in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, which offers a vast amount of diverse attractions ... such as nature ... world heritage, colonial sites and a unique gastronomy," he said.
What's more, tourists keen on boosting the number of world-famous attractions they have laid eyes on could do well to visit Chichen Itza where sink holes filled with clear water surround the peninsula.
"The true experience of Mexican culture" can also be found by examining the Spanish influence left behind from colonial times - Izamal, a small town in the area, boasts "amazing churches" and architecture from the era.
And travel insurance customers looking for a flight to Cancun might want to take a look at the new schedule from British Airways. The carrier will depart for Mexico from November 3rd this year with a direct service from London's Gatwick.
Accommodation should also be booked in advance, as research organisation STR Global has released figures that state demand for hotels in Mexico has increased by up to 55.3 per cent during August when compared with the same month in 2009 - the rise represents a 6.7 per cent boost in trade.
But no matter where travellers lay their head, they should remain entertained by the vast number of attractions that make up the Yucatan Peninsula in the South American country.
