View the solar eclipse from 41,000 feet
A solar eclipse is expected to pass across a corridor of Asia on July 22nd and a special flight in India plans to track its path to offer passengers an unobstructed view of the natural phenomenon.
"This is going to be the first eclipse flight in India," explained Mr C V Degun, spokesperson for the Space Technology and Education, to India's Economic Times.
"When a high speed flight flies along with the shadow in the same direction, viewers on board get the eclipse for a much longer duration," he continued.
Being up above the clouds will mean those aboard will not have the worry of clouds or the weather blocking their view, added Mr Degun.
The flight will take four hours and 20 minutes and will consist of a round trip from Delhi.
For those purchasing travel insurance who wish to keep their feet firmly on the ground, there will be a month-long programme of events taking place in India to mark the arrival of the eclipse.
