Travel insurance policyholders planning a UK city break this year could check out some of Manchester's award-winning sites.
Some of Manchester's prize-winning things to see and do could be ideal places for
travel insurance policyholders to visit this year.
The city's tourism awards recently took place at the Hilton on Deansgate, hosted by Cold Feet actor and comedian John Thomson.
The Access for All Award was given to Chill Factore, which is a ski slope and climbing wall facility located next to the Trafford Centre - a shopping mall equipped with cinema and arcade. The slope was highlighted for its disability awareness and excellent staff knowledge of the subject.
Large Hotel of the Year was given to the Radisson Edwardian, while Small Hotel/B&B of the Year was welcomed by Saddleworth's Cherry Clough Farmhouse.
Manchester Art Gallery took home the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year, although those heading to the north-west city at Christmas can also enjoy the festive markets, which picked up the prize for best tourism retailer.
"I hope that some of tonight's winners will continue their winning streak and ensure England's north-west is recognised as one of Europe's top visitor destinations at the regional and national awards," explained Nick Brooks-Sykes, director of tourism at the Northwest Regional Development Agency, which supported the event.
Other things to see and do for
travel insurance policyholders in Manchester include a visit to the Lowry or Imperial War Museum.
