There is plenty of variety to be had when it comes to UK holidays, according to the British Resorts & Destinations Association.
Holidaymakers will find a lot of variety when it comes to vacationing in the UK, an expert has said.
British Resorts & Destinations Association director Peter Hampson said that Britain being a small country means everyone is only a few hours away from a range of scenery and experiences of different kinds.
"It's a fact that the UK industry [has] known for a long time and [has] been trying to tell people that you don't have to go abroad to experience variety," he commented.
Travel insurance may still be needed when holidaying in the UK, however.
Recent figures from the Office for National Statistics showed that the number of people who went abroad in the 12 months to September dropped by 14 per cent compared with the same period last year.
Visits to Europe fell by 14 per cent, while those to North America saw a decrease of 20 per cent and trips to other parts of the world declined by 11 per cent.
