Culture vultures would be wise to head to Turkey, advises one expert.
Those looking for a short-haul holiday destination that offers the opportunity to sample some of a country's culture may wish to head to Turkey, it has been suggested.
Nadine Hallak, travel expert for Cheapflights Media, says that the country can offer holidaymakers the best cultural experience out of many short-haul breaks.
"A city break in Istanbul is the ideal way to experience Turkeys culture - enrol in a cooking class, learn to belly dance or take up photography in this famously photogenic city," she states.
Ms Hallak adds that Turkey is also a good choice for those who wish to get good value for money, with an exchange rate of 2.3 Turkish lira to the pound.
Furthermore, costs on arrival are also relatively cheap, as drinks, meals and hotels in the country all are comparatively inexpensive, she advises.
