Next summer will see Brits flock to Turkey and Egypt on holiday, it has been predicted.
It is likely that Turkey and Egypt will be among the most popular summer holiday destinations in 2010, new research has suggested.
According to the latest American Express Global Foreign Exchange Services Currency Index, currency sales for these two countries soared this summer as holidaymakers sought out places that would offer value for money.
The wide variety of package deals available to the two nations - as well as their warm, sunny climates - could result in equally high demand next year, American Express said.
Other destinations popular among cost-conscious Britons this summer included Mexico, Thailand, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica.
"Despite the tightening of purse strings up and down the country, Brits were just not prepared to forgo their annual summer holiday," remarked Terry Perrin of American Express.
Those looking to get away during the winter may want to consider destinations such as Budapest or Krakow, as they are among the cheapest Christmas market locations when it comes to accommodation,
holiday insurance and other costs, according to Virgin Money.
