The UK has many great destinations to help keep the kids happy through the half-term break this year.
While most people who are travelling abroad for a holiday in the summer or at winter know exactly what to do when the kids are out of school for lengthier breaks, there can often be a bit of difficulty with deciding upon activities for shorter breaks such as February's half-term holiday.
The sun may be king in July and August for most British holidaymakers, but for those who are looking to spice up half-term with some activities or a short break away, there are many things which can be done in the UK, meaning you do not have to spend a fortune to take your family away for an enjoyable break.
According to Nadine Hallak of Cheapflights.co.uk, there are many activities which people in Britain can partake in to keep the kids happy.
She said that for families with young children, Peppa Pig World inside Paultons Family Theme Park in Hampshire, or Thomas Land in Drayton Manor Park are the best places to find the sort of fun that even toddlers can enjoy, among all their favourite characters.
And for those who are buying travel insurance when taking their older children away for a short break, there are also many options.
"For slightly older kids, there is plenty going on at The Museum of London to celebrate the 200th birthday of Charles Dickens," Ms Hallak said.
Other popular destinations for families who are simply looking to have a short break include a range of theme parks. Thorpe Park and Alton Towers are popular destinations, with many Brits choosing to stay the whole weekend when they visit.
And for those who are looking for something more out in the open air, Britain also offers a wide range of nature walks and rambling options, such as popular areas of the Lake District.
