Travellers 'urged to unwind on a holiday'
Brits are being urged to take a holiday this summer to properly unwind from the stresses of everyday life, a new report has said.
Research by Teletext Holidays has revealed a third of the working population in the UK are reluctant to use up their full holiday entitlement - an average of 20 days per year - for fear of losing their jobs in the credit crunch.
Many workers end their year with around three days of holiday outstanding that they will have lost the chance to take.
"It's important to properly unwind on holiday - switch off phones and laptops and forget about work and you'll certainly notice the benefits when you return to your desk," said Victoria Sanders from the travel company.
Some 96 per cent of Brits in the survey said that taking a holiday was important for their health and wellbeing.
A report from Defaqto at the end of May encouraged holidaymakers to look at whether a single trip travel insurance policy or an annual travel insurance policy would be the most cost effective to their needs.
