Vacationers should weigh up their travel money options before heading abroad, it has been suggested.
Holidaymakers have been encouraged to make their vacation money go further by making sure they get the best deal on foreign currency.
The advice, which could be useful for those taking out
travel insurance, comes from moneysupermarket.com, which has suggested consumers research their options.
For example, for those taking out ten withdrawals of 100 (£92) while abroad, using a CaxtonFX pre-paid card could save £40.
Or, for those who are not keen on this kind of product, a Nationwide debit card could be more useful, which offers good rates outside the UK, according to the organisation.
Peter Harrison, travel money expert at the website, said: "It has never been more important for Brits to make sure they get the best value for their holiday spending money.
"By weighing up the options available, people can save themselves a bundle."
This is especially the case since the pound is struggling against the euro, he added.
The pound recently dropped to a five-month low against the euro.
