Films such as the Hangover have promoted the unique lifestyle of the city for many holidaymakers.
People who are looking for an affordable yet larger than life holiday with a movie-like feeling could consider taking a break in the unique city of Las Vegas.
According to one expert, those with travel insurance policies can harness the magic aura in Las Vegas without breaking the budget.
Oscar Goodman, ex-mayor of Las Vegas and chair of the host committee of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, said that people looking for a break in Las Vegas can find value for money if they simply shop around, with rooms in some of the top hotels and casinos in the city frequently going for 40 or 50 dollars per night at short notice.
He also says that there are other ways to make sure that a trip to Vegas isn't financially exhausting.
"It doesn't have to be. You can go to Las Vegas and not gamble," Mr Goodman added.
The popularity of films such as The Hangover and others which focus on the city have also made Vegas a popular destination, with an increased number of visitors making a trip to the city to try and recreate an unforgettable night for themselves and their friends.
Mr Goodman says that despite the fact that movies like Casino, in which he played himself, have violent and controversial subjects matters, people are still enticed to visit by seeing the unique experiences that the city can offer, differentiating it from other US destinations.
"It's helped us. It's colourful, the backdrop is all Las Vegas and they see that there's a certain craziness about us that makes us different from other places," he added.
