Travel insurance is “crucial” for all football fans travelling to South Africa this month, according to one expert.
Those travelling to South Africa for the World Cup this
summer may wish to take note of the advice of one expert, who suggests
travel insurance should be top of the shopping list of every football fan.
Nick Starling of the Association of British Insurers tells the Guardian getting properly covered with
travel insurance is crucial for every fan holidaying in South Africa this
summer.
He says: Whether travelling as part of a package or independently, all supporters should check their
travel insurance before they go so that they fully understand what they are covered for.
According to the publication, in 2009 some £4 million was paid out by travel insurers each week in order to cover the medical bills of people who fell ill while on holiday.
If England win the World Cup this year, it could spell good news for keen travellers, as gap year package firm Real Gap has announced the cost of trips booked to any of its 35 worldwide destinations before June 12th will be refunded if England go on to lift the World Cup trophy.
