Travel insurance "critical" for holidaymakers
It is imperative that people purchase travel insurance before going away on holiday, according to Access America.
The company issued a statement this week claiming that while looking for holiday insurance might not be particularly exciting, it is "critical for any trip".
This opinion is shared by moneysupermarket.com, which published research at the end of last month showing that approximately 62 per cent of Brits would not take out travel insurance for their holidays.
Maxine Baker, the firm's travel insurance manager, claimed that the findings illustrate "a worrying trend that could lead to horror stories of huge medical bills or worse" and stated that she would never recommend foregoing holiday cover as a way of saving money.
The price comparison website advocates that travellers check their policies to ensure they are covered for everything they need, advising that people should be looking for at least £1 million personal liability and £2 million for medical expenses.
Holiday Insurance from Direct Travel Insurance can cover a trip to Europe or long-haul destinations all for a low price.
