Travel firms 'to offer South Africa deals'

Travel insurance seekers can expect a spate of special deals for holidays to South Africa over the next few months.

This is the suggestion of the Economic Times of India, which claimed that many travel firms are looking to introduce substantial discounts in order to draw in cricket fans eager to watch the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Organisers of the Twenty20 (T20) competition elected to move it from India due to security issues and announced that South Africa had been chosen over England to host it last week.

According to the publication, the popularity of the T20 format is one of the reasons why travel firms are moving to cut prices, with discounts of up to 25 per cent being considered by some operators.

"Travel companies are all set to cash in on the hype around the T20 format, doling out discounted hotel and travel packages," said the Economic Times.

The first match of the season gets underway on April 18th in Cape Town.ADNFCR-2301-ID-19094243-ADNFCR
