Tourists in search of value for money might be impressed by Egypt

Egypt may offer good value

Holidaying abroad does not have to break the bank, particularly when you consider what Egypt has to offer, expert says.

Tourists who are looking to jet off abroad this year may be in search of a holiday that offers good value for money - and one expert has suggested they consider Egypt.

Khaled Ramy, director in UK and Ireland of the Egyptian State Tourist Office, said people can expect four or five-star hotels within their package trip and there are plenty of flights departing from the UK.

Recent figures from lowcostholidays.com have revealed that bookings of excursions to Egypt are becoming more popular and sales to the location have increased by 135 per cent year-on-year.

Points that have proven important to those visiting Sharm El Sheikh include the fact that there is little traffic, a plethora of private beaches and a warm coral sea.

This could be of interest to families jetting off to the region and Mr Ramy points out there are plenty of activities to keep young ones entertained.

"Egypt has plenty to offer and something that is unique to our country - it's either the pyramids, the temple in Luxor or the coral reefs," he explained.

However, those arriving in September could do well to bring plenty of sunscreen, when the temperature is particularly high and Mr Ramy advises covering up where possible - and wearing a T-shirt when swimming.

And it is not just families who will enjoy a holiday in Egypt - single people, couples and older travellers should all find activities that suit their lifestyle, the expert concludes.

Anyone planning a trip abroad should remember to undertake some travel insurance comparison measures to find the best deal before leaving the UK.
