Flooding has affected parts of Australia, but those jetting off to the country might find northern areas unaffected.
Travellers jetting off to Australia might be concerned about the devastating floods that have affected parts of Queensland, but an expert has suggested visitors head to the northern part of the state.
Bloomfield Lodge is situated within the Daintree Rainforest some 1,000 km away from the deluge that has blighted Brisbane and surrounding towns. Managers of the resort Ben and Courtney Morley said people planning a trip to north Queensland should "do so with confidence".
The remote location of the lodge could be ideal for those looking for a relaxing getaway, hidden from the hustle and bustle of daily life, while adventure seekers could enjoy exploring the lush, green landscape and coral seas.
Mr and Mrs Morley said: "Bloomfield Lodge, the Daintree and Great Barrier Reef is safe and totally unaffected," while a previous visitor to the area claimed it is "a true hidden gem".
Local tour guides are on hand to explain the surrounding landscape and can arrange snorkelling and fishing trips, as well as outings to surrounding islands aboard a catamaran.
Bloomfield River and waterfall trips are also available, but those hoping to participate could do well to check their single trip insurance policy covers the activities they want to undertake.
Meanwhile, travellers looking to explore the depths of Australia might be pleased to hear Qantas has extended its links to Western Australia.
Flights now operate between Perth and Exmouth, as well as more connections between Perth and Melbourne, which is located in the south-east of the country.
