Some of England's best accommodation providers and attractions have been honoured at the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2010.
Travellers looking to book their
holiday insurance for a domestic getaway may want to take note of the winners in the recent Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2010.
The National Trust was honoured with the Outstanding Contribution to Tourism Award, while the Livingstone Lodge Overnight Safari near Hythe in Kent was a gold winner in the Best Tourism Experience category.
Other providers given gold ratings included The Old School in Alnwick, Northumberland for Bed and Breakfast/Guest Accommodation, the Thurlestone Hotel in Kingsbridge, Devon in the Large Hotel category and the RHS Garden Wisley in Woking, Surrey for the large Visitor Attraction accolade.
"The fantastic diversity and quality of tourism product across the length and breadth of England means we can compete confidently on the international stage, making this country a must-visit destination," commented James Berresford, chief executive of VisitEngland.
More than four in ten England-based accommodation providers had a more successful year in 2009 than they did in 2008, according to VisitEngland.
