Timeshare customers 'are happy with their holidays'
Travellers in Europe who own a timeshare property are happy with their holidays, a new report has revealed.
Research indicated 87 per cent were satisfied with their timeshare arrangement and almost three-quarters of those surveyed said they believed their accommodation to be better than other self-catering holidays they have experienced, according to the Christel DeHaan Tourism and Travel Research Institiute and the Nottingham University Business School.
In Europe, there are some 1.5 million timeshare holders and 1,312 different resorts.
"The quality of timeshare resorts is high which is why many owners see it as superior to other self catering holidays," said Resort Development Organisation chairman Richard McIntosh.
He went on to say that timeshare gives people the flexibility to try out resorts all over the world.
According to the report, British and Irish travel insurance customers are the biggest fans of timeshare, followed by the Germans, Italians, Spanish and French.
When it comes to purchasing travel insurance, a recent report from Confused.com revealed holidaymakers could be paying as much as 500 per cent more for their policy if booked through their travel agent.
