Almost one-third of Britons could end up travelling abroad without any holiday insurance this year, according to a new poll.
A new survey has revealed that 31 per cent Britons will either not take out
travel insurance or are undecided about doing so for their holidays this year.
The poll by Aviva also found that 64 per cent of potential travellers are looking to head abroad in 2010.
One-quarter of these will be looking to cut costs compared with holiday expenditure in previous years.
Jerry Finch, travel product manger at Aviva, warned of the dangers of heading overseas without
holiday insurance.
"Remember, accidents and illnesses do happen on holiday and you could end up footing an expensive medical bill if you haven't taken out
travel insurance," he commented.
He added that those who go on regular holidays and want to cut costs could benefit from taking out
annual travel insurance.
A recent Bupa survey suggested that Britons are most worried about the possibility that they might lose their luggage while abroad - something that could be covered by the right
holiday insurance.
