This year 'is the year for camping'
People who still want a summer holiday this year but feel like a trip abroad may stretch the purse strings should head out and enjoy the fresh air on a camping trip, the Camping and Caravanning Club has said.
Jon Dale, spokesman for the club, stated people should "get outside" and make the most of the outdoor lifestyle whether is be in a motor home, caravan or tent.
"There is plenty of opportunity to explore," he explained, adding there were even sites within the city of London where holidaymakers looking to go camping can stay.
"People can enjoy the adventure and lifestyle without having to go to the countryside," he explained.
Over Easter 2009, the club saw a 50 per cent increase in the number of people choosing to holiday on its campsites compared to last year.
Bovril have launched a campsite, 230 feet high atop an inner city London skyscraper so people without the time to escape the city can still benefit from a camping break this summer.
