Thailand is the ideal destination for a luxury getaway, according to the country's tourism authority.
Britons looking to splash out on their next holiday might want to book their
travel insurance for a trip to Thailand.
According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the country's service and hospitality adds an extra star onto any holiday in the region.
Joanna Cooke, UK and Ireland marketing manager at the organisation, said that it is a common misconception that Thailand is not quite as developed as it actually is.
"It is very modern. If you are in Bangkok, you've got taxis and tuk-tuks. We've got a very modern Skytrain and underground system, which is 100 times better than London," she remarked.
Ms Cooke added that all of the big hotel brands are well-represented in Thailand, while smaller boutique hotels can also offer a touch of class for breaks in the country.
According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, more than 630,000 Britons visited the nation between January and November 2009.
